Ellen and Alex had their wedding at the newly renovated 1 Hotel Toronto located at 550 Wellington St. W, Toronto, a popular luxury wedding venue in Toronto. It was a gorgeous day during the pandemic on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Enjoy this collection of photos from the day and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
Ellen, with the company of her mom and good friend, spent the day getting ready with Baz and Banks for Hair and Makeup artist Jiefan Alan. I started my day at one of 1 Hotel Toronto’s beautiful hotel suites with Ellen photographing her portraits and details. Everything looks so pretty!
Flower arrangement by Botany Floral Studio and shoes from Jeffrey Campbell.
How gorgeous does she look!! In case you’re curious, Ellen purchased her dress from Sash and Bustle and she is wearing all of her grandmother’s jewelry – I love learning these sentimental details about my couples. 🥺
Ellen and Alex opted to host their wedding ceremony at 1 Hotel Toronto’s Harriet’s Rooftop. It is 1,064 sq. ft. and can accommodate up to 120 guests. A beautiful rooftop location for those with a special love of the city because of the incredible views of the Toronto skyline.
Hot tip: Since the skyline is very bright during the day, I highly recommend planning your ceremony an hour before sunset for the best light.
These two had their good friend officiating the ceremony. Since he is not an official officiant, these two completed their legal signing with Tade, That Marrying Lady. She’s the best! If you are in the market for an officiant, I highly recommend connecting with her. Do it early too because she gets booked up quickly!
For Ellen and Alex’s portrait session, they opted to stay on the rooftop. How pretty is this light! 💖 But if you decide to explore a bit more, there are SO many great spots to take portraits at the hotel, including the Main Lobby, Bar Flora, 1 Kitchen the Garden Pavillion and more!
You’ll have to check out more photos of this venue because its interior is incredible. You can find additional photos from The Toronto Life’s article titled, “A first look inside 1 Hotel, the Thompson’s verdant replacement.“
Fun fact taken from the article listed above, 1 Hotel Toronto is all about eco-luxury hospitality. Their interiors are organic, feature refurbished materials, lots of plants and muted colour schemes and they strive to minimize their carbon footprint. Definitely check out that article for more information about its New York-based design firm Rockwell Group.
But back to Ellen and Alex! 💕
Even at night, this place is amazing. Just look at that skyline! 👇
