Planning a wedding is no small feat. There are a million little details to take care of, and one of the most important is hiring a Toronto Wedding Hair and Makeup team you trust. After all, you want to look and feel your best on your big day! But with so many options out there, it can be tough to know where to start. If you’re getting married in Toronto, here are a few tips for hiring a GTA wedding makeup and hair professional provided by Ica from IcaBee Hair and Makeup.

Each hair and makeup artist has their own style – or they specialize in a specific look. Ensure that the artistâs work fits your vision. If you like natural soft glam, you wouldnât hire an artist that primarily does heavy, full glam makeup.
If you donât know where to start, ask folks who recently got married and the vendors you’ve already hired, including your wedding planner or photographer.
Artists without certification can still be very good at what they do; however, having that certificate ensures that they have received proper training not only in products and techniques but also in sanitation.
Make sure they can provide services for people of all skin tones and hair types. Unfortunately not every hair and makeup artist is equipped to provide services to everyone and so be sure to ask for photos of people they’ve worked on with similar hair and skin tones.
Visit their website to see their overall vibe and read testimonials. Your hair and makeup team will set the tone for the rest of the day and so it’s important (not required) you hire someone you mesh with and genuinely like.
This is the best way to meet and get to know your artist. You will be able to determine whether you two are a good fit. This also makes your wedding day go a lot smoother. As an added tip, book your trial on the same day as your engagement session so that you can see how the makeup photographs!
Most people think contracts only protect the artist but they also protect you!
Reading reviews from Google, Wedding Wire and so forth will give you a better idea of what it’s like working with prospective artists.
Do your research and have a budget in mind. Once you find an artist you’d like to work with, double-check that they fit within your budget. Keep in mind that each artistâs pricing reflects their skills and experience.
It has been a wild wedding season and so if you are set on who you want to hire, make that deposit, sign the contract, secure your date and check off another task on your to-do list! Good luck!
Hiring a makeup and hair team for your wedding may seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! With a little research and careful planning, you can find the perfect people for the job. And once you’ve found them, sit back and relaxâyou’re one step closer to having the wedding of your dreams!
